Creating Safe Sober Living for Women and Children
Welcome to Amanda's House, a compassionate recovery home dedicated to supporting women on their journey to lasting sobriety. Located in the heart of Green Bay, Wisconsin, we provide a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where healing begins and new lives are built. Discover our community and how we empower residents to embrace a future free from addiction.
Across Green Bay and Wisconsin, many women leave treatment, jail, or unsafe situations with nowhere safe to go. At Amanda’s House, women in recovery can live with their children, find stability, and start a new story for their families.
Our Programs & Support
Amanda's House offers a range of specialized programs and supportive services, carefully tailored to meet the unique needs of each resident. Our holistic approach focuses on personal growth, accountability, and building the essential life skills for a successful, sober future.
Our Impact at a Glance
For over four years, we’ve provided safe, sober, stable, and structured housing for women in recovery. We are the only program in our region where moms can live with their children, supporting 73 (and counting!) families in long‑term recovery. Our recovery‑focused community offers peer support and accountability, along with connections to jobs, education, mental health care, and vital community resources.
What We Do
Amanda’s House is more than a place to stay. We offer safe, stable, sober living for women in recovery and their children, along with peer support and resources for jobs, education, and mental health care.
Why Safe Housing Matters
Unstable housing drives higher relapse, emergency service use, family instability, and long‑term community costs. Women in early recovery are especially vulnerable, often facing homelessness, unsafe relationships, or a return to environments that threaten their sobriety. For mothers, the lack of recovery‑focused housing can mean separation from their children and the continuation of trauma across generations. Amanda’s House fills this gap by keeping moms and kids together in a safe, sober home.
Expanding Hope in Green Bay
We are renovating our historic 1918 Green Bay property, which has undergone additions and changes throughout the years, to create 6 additional bedrooms for women and their children. The project includes:
- Structural and safety upgrades to meet current codes and accessibility needs
- Modern bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry faciliities and common areas
- Updated electrical, plumbing, and heating/cooling systems
- Family‑friendly spaces where mothers can safely parent while building recovery
